UPDATE: Statistics: Russian consumer prices rise 0.6% in February

MOSCOW, Mar 4 (PRIME) -- Russian consumer prices increased 0.6% in February compared to 1% in January, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Friday.
Consumer prices increased 8.1% in annual terms in February against 9.8% in January and inflation since the beginning of the year stands at 1.6%.
Russia’s consumer price inflation amounted to 12.9% in 2015. Consumer prices rose 0.8% in December and November.
FOOD PRICES RISE 0.7%
Food prices increased 0.7% in February compared with 1.2% in January, the service said. In annual terms, foods inflation fell to 6.4% from 9.2%, respectively.
Prices for lemons rose 11.8% in February, garlic price rose 9.4%, prices for apples, grapes, pears, carrots, and tomatoes increased 3.8–5.5%. Prices for oranges fell 5.6% and potatoes price went down 1.0%.
Fresh and cooled fish price increased 2.9%, while pork price fell 1.4%, poultry price went down 0.8% and prices for rice and millet decreased 0.2%.
Nonfood prices rose by 0.8% in February.
